Seeking ANY information on Robert Smith's ancestors or other family members.
Robert Smith (ca. 1830-1859) and Rebecca "Becky" Cagle (ca. 1834-1905) were my great-great-great-grandparents. They were married 21 July 1851 in Stanly, North Carolina, and had four children:
1. James A. Smith (b. ca. 1852 in Stanly, North Carolina; lived in Vian, Oklahoma, in 1880)
2. George R. Smith (ca. 1853); wife Fanny C. on 1880 census, Lee, Pope, Arkansas
3. Samuel B. (or Samuel David) Smith (ca. 1856)
4. Mary R. Smith (27 Nov 1858-10 May 1922), m. Henry Clay Lawless
After the death of her first husband, Robert Smith, Rebecca married John Marcus Austin (1837-1919) and had five more children:
5. Benjamin P. (Ben) Austin (ca. 1863)
6. Frances Austin (ca. 1865)
7. Thomas J. Austin (ca. 1865)
8. Martha A. A. Austin (ca. 1869
9. John Marcus "Aukie" Austin (23 June 1871-11 Feb 1928) m. Minnie Inez MacMahel
After 1870, Rebecca and John Marcus Austin's family moved to Pope County, Arkansas, with her mother, Abigail Rowland Cagle. Rebecca's parents were Lindsey F. Cagle and Abigail Rowland.
