I'm looking for a possible Ross connection between the Coopers, Shoffners, and Brooks, as intimated in the Diary of Alta Brooks of Russellville, AR that referred to a church service in AR "..in the crowd were all Mother's family, Aunt Polly Ross and her four children ... Uncle Jim Ross, her husband, was killed in War.." Alta's mother was Rebecca Melinda Cooper, daughter of Caswell and Christina Shoffner. Christina Shoffner Cooper d. in 1860 Stanly Co., NC. Rebecca Melinda Cooper m. William Brooks in Pope Co., AR. I'm wondering if "Aunt Polly Ross" was perhaps sister of Christina Shoffner or Caswell Cooper?
