Bryant Austin Jr. (Esquire) died in 1842. He indicated daughters in his will but did not name them there. The following abstracts of records of the Stanly Co. NC Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions indicates names of guardian appointment for the daughters and one son who were under age (minors) at the time.
"1845 November Session page 183 - John Griffin appointed Guardian of LUCY Austin, SARAH Austin, NICY Austin, and ALVIRA Austin, orphans of Bryant Austin, deceased, gave bond of $1000 with Thomas Rowland and Daniel Lefler as securities."
"1850 May Session page183: John Griffin guardian of SARAH, CALVIN, REBECCA and NICY AUSTIN, renewed his bond of $500, Alexander Brooks and Andrew Hunnycutt, securities."
"1850 May Session page 183: RITTY Austin brought into court and bound to Ambrose Lents, entered bond."
Alvira Austin may or could be the same person as Rilla Austin, Ritty Austin and Retta Austin.

The following court record refers to Nancy Lilly Austin, wife of John Exum Smith. "1852 Feb 23, John Exum Smith released all rights, title, trust and interest to the estate which he was entitled to in the estate of Bryant Austin due at the right of his wife to Jacob Austin to who he was duely indebted. (Lateral files, Stanly Co. NC library)."
FAMILY BIBLE INFORMATION
A family Bible reported to have belonged to George Bryant & Eva Ann Smith indicates in part the following who may have all been children of Bryant & Temperance Austin Jr. Markers for some have been located in the Old Bryant Austin Burying Ground of Stanly Co. NC and I suspect all are buried there.
