Jane,
I have noticed before that I don't always get a notification on an answer to something I have posted on Genforum. Not sure why this is.

To answer your question on where I got this info on the book, it came from you by way of a direct message from Bill FURR, when you wrote to him about Serena BARBEE FURR. He answered you and sent a copy of his answer to me. Your original message was attached at the end of his message. In this message, you sent an email from a Barbee researcher concerning the three separate Serena BARBEEs found in Stanly Co. records. In the first paragraph of this message the Mildred Hartsell Finchum book is mentioned. That is all I know about it. I've never seen it.

My interest in this was from the FURR research I have done. So I haven't tried to find the BARBEE book. But I would start by asking someone in the Stanly Co Genealogical Society if they could tell you about it. If that doesn't work, I would write to the Stanly Co. Public Library History Room and ask them if they can help you.
