Checking the "Stanly County Heritage" index didn't turn up a "Noh". Checking all of North Carolina turned up only 6 Noh's with listed phone numbers. There is, however, a "Noah" listed in the index. A check of all North Carolina for the surname "Noah" with listed phone numbers reveals that the name, while not common, has about 100 individual listings. One must remember that a great number of people during that time period were illiterate, couple that with careless government clerks, and you get a lot of errors. The one Noah mentioned in the book is Jeff Noah, the time frame is in the 1960's and the location is Albemarle, Stanly County, NC.
