I have information on this family sent to me by Kay Carter of Cameron, NC in th 1990s. She said that Lewis was a professor of vocal music. She did not have the first wife you mentioned, Nancy. Lewis' mother was Mary Frances "Fannie Stoker, dau. of Matthias Stoker and Elizabeth Moose. Lewis and second wife had three children. Each one had several given names. Lewis and Caroline Russell Austin are buried in William Craven Thompson Cemetery located on W. R. Whitley land.
My line is from Joshua Carter, who may possibly be Henry's older brother.
