Robert Cherry is also my GGGGrandfather. I descend from John T.(Tucker) Cherry. He had 5 children. One was Robert C. Cherry. One of his sons was John Russell Cherry who is my great-grandfather. I have been able to piece together connections to the 1st Robert Cherry but I did not have any info other than his name and his wife's. I would be interested in finding out more about him and am willing to share my info. The Cherry family settled in Clay County, near Hayesville on Cherry Mountain and are all buried in the same cemetery. Clay was originally part of Cherokee County, and prior part of Rutherford. The Tucker name comes up several times in this family.
