The Caleb Dalton you are refering to is Caleb Jackson Dalton s/o Travis & Elizabeth Davenport Dalton. Below is the Will of Rebecca Dalton.
Spring Court, 1849 --- Rutherford Co. N.C.
In the name of God amen, I Rebecca Dalton of the County of Rutherfordton and State of North Carolina do make this my last will and testament. I do first commit my soul to God who gave it and body to the grave. and as, to such, worldly estate as I hath. Please God to intrust me with. I dispose of the same as follows.
First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses paid out of the proceeds of my cattle and this small property except my loom. That with all fixture there to belonging. I bequease unto my sister Lusinda and all the rest of my property both real and personal. That is one Negro girl name Catherine and my interest in the plantation that I now live on, being the planation where my father lived and died. And the remainder of my small property after my debt is paid all to my mother during her life time and after the death of my mother (Elizabeth Dalton) I direct that the above named property be equality divided between my two sisters and my brother Vir. Caleb Jackson Dalton, Lusinda Dalton and Nancy Dalton and as for my sister Polly Nealon I direct that she shall have one dollar and I do make and ordain my neighbor John Gilkey Executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I Rebecca Dalton this to state have to this my last will set my hand and seal this 15 day of January 1846.
