I descend from Sherwood to Elias to James Samuel to David Adam to George Burnett, my dad! In my marriage book it lists Painter, Banter and Banther, all in how you say it or write it. Michael Painter came from Bucks County Pa. At least his father did coming into Va. and then N.C.
