Need any documentation that Joel Blackwell served in the Rutherford Co. militia in 1781 and fought at the Battle of Cowpens which was just across the NC/SC from his house.

Does anyone have RW pensions which mention Joel as having been with them in the fight at Cowpens? The only thing I have is the statement of his grandson Sylvester Blackwell in the Greene Co. MO history book. DAR wants more than Sylvester's word.
