Hi Larry! Hickory Creek runs through Shelby in Cleveland County. Cleveland County was formed in 1841 from parts of Rutherford & Lincoln Counties. I descend from the Hardin family, which came there from Orange County, NC (originally emigrating from England, then Virginia before NC).
