Hello Mark,

The name of the Bostick book is "The Bostick Trails" by James Bostick Moore. You can look James on the NET and e-mail him and get a copy.

Richard Bostick was John Bostic's Father according to the book. But the book has no proof of this fact. Richard and his father did not get involved with the American Revolution. However, Ann Link, the wife of Richard Bostick was. His name was John Adams Link. There were two men with that name that fought in the American Revolution from VA. Ann's father was from Halifax VA. I have a copy of the Revolutionary War Pay Stub.

If you descend form John Bostick your Daughers best way into the DAR is though Housand Harrill. Housand's son was Samuel Harrill how married Susan Hamrick there daughter married John Bostick. I have copies of both Housand and Samuel's Wills. These Wills prove that Cynthia Harrill, the wife of John Bostic was a descend of Housand. I have a picture of Housand's grave stone. He fought at Gilford's Court house. He was injured during this battle.

The name Bostick became Bostic because a man painting a train sign run out of room on the sign when painting the sign.

If you descend from Thomas Carroll or his father William Carroll ( they married sisters both Daughers of John Bostic). Joining the DAR should be done though the Carroll line. I also have this proof.
