I'd spent a long time trying to confirm that some family left Rutherford County for Arkansas. The Turnbo Manuscripts were a significant find. Here's a sample:

"On the south bank of Crooked Creek at a beautiful flowing spring of cold water is the residence of Loranzo McEntire. His farm is one mile below Powel and he has lived here since 1850. He was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina, July 29, 1828. Uncle Loranzo is a son of John and Elizabeth (Wiley) McEntire." (Source: S. C. Turnbo: Peculiar Actions of a Wounded Panther)

There are at least six Rutherford County references.
