George B. Davis, born 1853 in either Sandy Run, Rutherford Co, NC or Cleveland Co, NC (so far not sure which county definitively). I found his death certificate yesterday which states he passed away on 12 Jun 1925 in Spencer (Roane Co), WV of tuberculosis. The death cert confirms he and his parents were from NC. It also states that his usual address was in Hemphill, McDowell Co, WV. I do not know what he was doing there although possibly visiting family??
I then discovered that one William B (Brison) Davis was also living in McDowell Co, WV in the 1910 census (specifically the town of Elkhorn). This William was born in 1849 in NC to parents also from NC. When I looked back into the 1860 census, I discovered a William B. Davis aged 11, with brother George Davis aged 7 (fits my George), along with other siblings and parents Eli Davis aged 36 from NC and wife Narcissa Davis aged 30 also from NC.
This family was living in Sandy Run, Rutherford Co, NC, although in later census I found them also in Cleveland Co, NC.
Can anyone help me find more information on these possible relatives? I theorize that brothers William B. and George eventually moved away (looking for work?? adventure??) at some point before 1880 since I can not find them with their parents by that point.
I would appreciate any and all information or advice.
