Tom, I had another source on our line. Her name was Ruth Brown. She died in 2007. Her family emailed me. I was so sorry to hear about that. She sent me the following: She had traced her line through: Thomas and Dorcas to William Michael Sr. who died in Rutherford abt 1792. She was through his son James b, 1760 and wife Nancy.
Wm Michael Sr. had probable sons (according to her research): John, James (her line who migrated to SC,William Michael jr. (my line) a son unnamed (which would more than likely have been Isaac), Moses b. 1774 and 2 daughters. I did find documentation that my Wiliam married Betsey Abernathy and his middle name was Irvine.I know there were two Joels in Rutherford, one older than the other. My ggg Uncle Joel, s/o Wm Michael Jr died before he made his will. I found another older Joel in Anson/Montgomery Co NC in the 1850 census. He was older than my Joel.
According to Bob Henderson deceased who also corresponded with me, Wm. Michael jr.has a sister Lettia, b 1780 Augusta Co Va.I have just gone back to my Hendersons after a lapse of many years so I plan to get serious this time. Will keep you posted if I find anything significant.I did contact the Phillip Henderson line as Phillip is buried at Mill Crek Church of the Brethren in Polk Co NC near many of my Sanders kin. I was told he was a son of Moses Henderson. Jo
