Dear Bob:

Thank you very much for posting the information concerning the Sims family of Brunswick County, VA. I am a descendent of Burwell Sims through his son Littleton who married Hannah Mitchell. Littleton Sims had a daughter named Jane who married John Jacob Price and they were my g-g-g-g-grand.parents.

Do you have any idea of the surname of the wife of Burwell B. Sims? All I know is that her first name was Mary. Several of their descendents were named Watson so it is possible that her maiden name was Watson. Was Mary Sims a daughter of George Sims and Martha Walton? She is not mentioned in the will of George Sims. Since her husband John Walton was born in 1709 I believe it is far more likely that she was a sister of George Sims.

There is a lady named Joanna Sims buried in Rutherford County, NC who is a mystery to me. She was born 3/24/1761 and died 4/1/1852 and is buried in Koon Cemetery, Rutherford County, NC. Littleton Sims died in Rutherford County, NC in 1844. I assume that Joanna Sims was married to another Sims who was somehow related to Littleton. William Sims in early Rutherford County, NC records was a surveyor and may have been the uncle of Littleton who died 1810 in Baldwin County, GA. There was also a man named Brittain Sims who lived in Rutherford County, NC for a brief period and who also may have been related to Littleton Sims.
