May 16- JOHN R. BIGGERSTAFF, 74, died at the home of a daughter, MRS. LINNIE HARDIN, after a week's illness.
A retired textile worker and sawmill operator, he was the s/o the late NEWTON and SUSAN BLANKENSHIP BIGGERSTAFF of Rutherford Co. His wife died about 8 weeks ago as a result of burns sustained when the coal stove in their home exploded.
Surviving are ; 3 daughters, MRS. HARDIN, MRS. NANNIE CASH, of Spindale and MRS. EMMA MARSH, of Cliffside; 3 sons, CHARLES, DEWITT, and BILL, all of Spindale; one brother, ED of Alexander Mills, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and 9 g-grandchildren.
MR. BIGGERSTAFF was a member of the Golden Valley Meth. church. Funeral services will be held at Pisgah Meth. church, burial in the church cemetery.
The body is at the home of his son, Bill at Spindale, where it will remain until the hour of service.
Hovis- Crowe Funeral Home in charge.
