Rutherford County Road Records -July 1789- "The court appointed Thomas Bradley overseer of the public road from Alexander McDonalds folly to the old muster ground and that all the hands be liable by law the dividing ridge between Cedar Creek and Turkey down to the said road are ordered to work on the same." In April of 1788, the court had ordered a group of twelve men in addition to Thos. Bradley to lay off a road from McDonald's lower field on Cove Creek from thence to Jones Williams and from thence up Young's Creek to the old Muster Ground making the road towards Moses Wrights..." Geo. Ledbetter was responsible for their qualifying as to the charges that would be made for marking and laying off the road. I assume this is the same road mentioned above. In October 1791 Richard Bradley was appointed overseer in place of Thomas Bradley who had moved away. This is all I have on the muster ground, but seeing the above information in the August Bulletin of the Old Tryon Genealogical Society made me curious.
