This John Davis was a member of the 4th Regiment of Light Dragoons, Pennsylvania Line in the Revolutionary War. Believe that he had brothers who migrated and settled in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Would like any info available on this family, including parents, siblings, and maiden name of wife Jane. John and Jane married in Rutherford County, NC abt. 1787.

John Davis lived in Rutherford County , North Carolina after the Revolutionary War. Children of John Davis (sr) and wife Jane ___________Davis were:

Phebe Davis b. ca 1810, m. Jonas Parris. Husband Parris received pension for Revolutionary War service.

John Davis (jr) b. between 1813 and 1817. m. 1. Sarah Westbrook m. 2 Elmira Byars. Before the Civil War, this family lived in Northern Spartanburg County , South Carolina along the state line of NC / SC. Migrated (in 1872) to Tippah County, MS, where he died on Nov 2, 1878. First wife, Sarah Westbrook's mother was Rebecca Stroud.

Jane Davis b. ca 1818 never married. In her later years, census records indicate that she was living in the home of Rebecca and John Robertson.

Other (than those mentioned above) related families to this Davis line in the 1800s were:

Thank you for looking at this information. All help appreciated.
