The ZACHARIAH ROGERS of ROWAN CO. NC who left his 1837 Rowan Co. NC WILL is suppose to be the son of my GGGG Grandfather JAMES ROGERS, Jr. of Montgomery Co. NC. ( James Rogers Jr. is supposedly the son of James Rogers, Sr. of Anson and Montgomery Co. NC. ) We see that Stanly Co. NC library files had a ROGERS file of our family and one researcher stated that our JAMES ROGERS, Sr. b. between 1700-1720 of Anson Co. NC was either the brother or son of JOHN ROGERS ULSTER SCOT of Cabarrus Co. NC. But as John Rogers Ulster Scot is listed having a birth estimation of betwen 1700-1710 we think if they were kin, they most likely would have been brothers. Our JAMES ROGERS, Sr. and Jr. line are now DNA TESTED and we also have Haplogroup tested our ROGERS showing that they are CELTIC not ENGLISH and that indicated that they may be the MacRORY CLAN of SCOTLAND who went became the IRISH MERCENARIES who changed their MACRORY Surname to ROGERS. We know that ZACHARIAH ROGERS of ROWAN Co. NC has a marriage record on Aug. 15, 1820 Rowan Co. NC with SARAH CHESHER. We do see that a Z. ROGERS is listed on the 1810 Montgomery Co. NC Census. But by 1820 ZACHARIAH ROGERS is listed in Rowan Co. NC and he left his 1837 Rowan Co. NC will in which he listed his son SAMUEL ROGERS to inherit and if Samuel died, then an ALLEN ROGERS would inherit. We don't know who RANDOL / RANDAL ROGERS might have been however. ZACHARIAH ROGERS ( Seal ) Witness X mark LEVI TRAXLER DANIEL FRICK DANIEL FILE, *************************************************** Supposedly the ROGERS buried in the old BETHPAGE CEM. near ENOCHSVILLE, ROWAN CO. NC were out of the line of JOHN ROGERS ULSTER SCOT of Cabarrus Co. NC. Ths JOHN ROGERS ULSTER SCOT use to be listed on the history page of Cabarrus Co. NC having arrived there in SW part of NC in 1732 from PHILADELPHIA PA, having traveled down the old WAGON TRAIL out of PA into that region that was then SW part of NC under jurisdiction of NEW HANOVER Co. NC , then Bladen Co. NC and in 1750 Anson Co. NC was created from Bladen. By 1750 many of the other SCOTS IRISH of PA had arrived to same area of NC known then as ROCKY RIVER SETTLEMENTS ( John Rogers is listed with having built his cabin along Back Creek at junction of Rocky River ). John Rogers had son JOSEPH ROGERS b. 1732 Rocky River Settlements and this Joseph married ISABELLA WHITE. So these ROGERS are thought to be buried in old BETHPAGE CEM. per this listing of them. But John Rogers Ulster Scot was said to have died about 1781 in MECKLENBURG, NC. The later HUGH ROGERS line also of PA, if I recall were also in Mecklenburg and some are now listing them incorrectly, I believe, as no known records survived to really know which line JOHN ROGERS ULSTER SCOT might have been in.
