Kersey's in Robeson Cty, NC before 1800

I am searching for a link between my G-G-Grandfather, Wright Kersey, b. 1805 in Emanuel Cty, GA and any Kersey from the Robeson Cty, NC area prior to 1800. I have been unable to find Wright's parents names and where they came from prior to Emanuel County, GA around 1800.

In the 1790 Federal Census, there are several Kersey families listed in the Fayette District of Robeson County.

I suspect my lineage goes back thru one of the men listed in 1790. They were James, Peter, Redding, Solomon and William Kersey. Both Peter and William's census listing has their families listed as "All other free persons." Does anyone know what that means? Could they have been of Indian descent or were immigrants from another country?

If anyone has any information on any of these Kersey's, I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe I can make a connection from my GA Grandfather to a NC family.
