James Phillips 1800 census Robeson, Co.

James Phillips was enumerated in Robeson Co, in 1800 with the following family members: 3 males to age 10;1 male over 26 and under 45;1 female under 10; 1 female 10 and under 16; 1 female 16-26 and 1 female 26 -45. Near neighbors were Jordan Phillips and Jesse Phillips. On the same page were John Purnell and Margaret Purnell (two households). Margaret was 45+ with a large family. The eldest male was under 26.

James Phillips was not in Robeson C. in 1810.

I think he may have been the James Phillips who was in Cheraws District SC in 1790 and in Darlington District in 1810.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this James Phillips, particularly when he may have purchased and/or sold land in Robeson County?

I'd appreciate any hints as to the identity of this James Phillips.

Thanks,

Anne Westbrook
