Pickett McIntosh

Pickett McIntosh was born about 1830, reportedly around Rockingham, Richmond Co., NC. One family source says that he was an only child and that his mother was a Leak. Pickett is also said to have migrated in the company of relatives named McInnis when they moved to Mississippi. The first written record I can find of him is in the early 1850s on a tax record for Jasper Co., MS, by which time he had already married. He spent the remainder of his life in the Jasper-Jones-Smith county area of MS. I have researched every Richmond Co. McIntosh I can find without being able to identify Pickett's parents. Can anyone provide any further information about Pickett or suggest where else I might search? Many thanks.
