Deed Elisha & Penelope Parker to Sarah Beasley
Posted by: Anne Westbrook (ID *****1491) Date: March 11, 2011 at 13:47:10

Richmond Co., NC Deed Book F, page 405

Indenture 1st of November 1802 between Elisha Parker and Penelope his spouse and Sarah Beasley "in consideration of the love & natural respect that I have and do bear towards my granddaughter in and by the said Sarah Beasley the daughter of Daniel Beasley and Barbara his spouse...." This goes on to describe the 100 acre tract being conveyed. My copy from microfilm is fair at best but it appears that both Elisha and Penelope signed with marks.
Witnesses were Isaac Williamson and Danl Beasley.

This is the first deed I think I have ever seen conveying property by a grandfather to an unmarried granddaughter.

Does anyone have any information about this family? I have some Beasley information but not Parker. I'm curious to hear what someone else might make of this.
