I have been doing alot of reasearch on the Lassiter and Mathis family, for my husbands cousin. His line goes through Jesse's daughter Mary Jane who married Willam Henry Fowler. A lot of the info I have was found on notes from his mother and family pass down talk. Jesse died in Jefferson Barricks, in St. Louis, Mo. and is burried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. You can find info on him and his family in the records in ST. Louis. His father was William Lassiter who married Sarah Robertson. You can find Jesse on the 1860 Washington Twsp, Independenc Co., AR Census. Mary Mathis parents were Jordan Mathis and Nancy (Rainwater) McDonald. I have 12 children listed for Jesse and Mary, Mary Jane, William M., Nancy Jane, John Allen, Francis Asbury, Francis Marion, jesse Cecil, Thomas J., Robert Franklin, Julia Ann, Peter Pryor, and David Ardvine.
