African-American Dockerys of Richmond County

Charles Dockery (black) was my great grandfather. According to the 1900 Census, he was living in the Steeles area of Richmond County (N.C.). He was married to Lillie and the couple had two sons - Vesper (my grandfather) and Lacy. I believe Warren Dockery was Charles's father and I am attempting to verify it. When the 1880 census was taken Warren was 70 years old and was born abt 1810. I am trying to determine if he is the same Warren (slave) mentioned in the 1854 will of Thomas Dockery (white) of Richmond County.
