Hello Fellow Genealogists,
I am hoping someone will be able to help me since there has been more genealogy information gathered over the past years and more put on to state and county websites and available in general.
I am looking for any and all information on my line of the Lassiter Family. My great-great-great grandfather was Jesse C. Lassiter (b. about 1804 in Randolph or Richmond County, NC) who married Mary Sara Mathis/Matthews (b. about 1812 in Richmond County, NC). Jesse and Mary Sara were married on or about September 8, 1827 in Richmond County, NC.
UPDATE: Someone sent me the names of Harmon LASSITER and Nancy RAINWATER as possible parents of Jesse C. (Crawford?) LASSITER. Does anyone have any information on Harmon LASSITER or Nancy RAINWATER? Nancy's name has came up several times in research, but always as being married to different people, but not a Harmon. Any information is greatly appreciated.
I am needing any and all information on who the parents of Jesse Lassiter were. I believe they might have been a William Lassiter (b. circa 1780) and Sarah Robertson (b. circa 1790), both possibly born in NC. I am needing any information verifying them as Jesse's parents. Any information on siblings is also needed. I am also needing any copies or where to find a copy, of the marriage license/bonds for Jesse and Mary Sara.
Also, any information to verify the parents of Mary Sara Mathis as being Jordan W. Mathis (b. about 1780 NC d. 1847, Tippah Co., MS) and Nancy Rainwater or McDonald (b. about 1787 in NC d. about 1860 in Tippah Co., MS). Different researchers have Nancy's maiden name as both Rainwater and McDonald. I am hoping someone has verifiable and source recorded information to prove what Nancy's last name really was. Maybe the marriage license or marriage bonds for Jordan and Nancy?
Any and all help is really appreciated on helping to find this information and proving one way or another who exactly was who.
My direct line goes from Jesse Lassiter to John Allen Lassiter to Mary Ellen Lassiter Vaulner to Perry Monroe Vaulner to Mary Evelyn Vaulner Graves to myself. I have tons of info from Jesse forward, but really need it for Jesse back..
Thank you for taking the time to read my posting. Please feel free to email me directly.
