My ggg grandmother was a Mary Mims, bn in 1785, m. in 1803 to Samuel Ely, bn 1780. They lived in Rockingham, Richmond County, NC. She was from Anson County. They had 12 children,in the following order: Abner, Thomas,Elizabeth, Harriet, Wesley, Mary, Travis Enoch, Rachel, Samuel, Richard and Celia. We know that Thomas Mims on Anson County (Pee Dee River Country) was her father.

If this is your Mary, do you have any info you could share with me? We have been unable so far to find out who Samuel Ely's parents are.

Mary died 12/7/1856 and she is buried with Samuel Ely in the Spring Hill Cemetery, about 4 miles s/w of Grenada, MS.

Hope to hear from you.
