Dear Brenda,

Is this the same Brenda POOLE researching the MYRICK family? I can't tell because of different email address.

If it is the same Brenda POOLE....Hi, Cousin Brenda! Need to talk to you about the MYRICK info. Had a computer crash and lost that main MYRICK file that we were communicating over. My main family file of all of my direct descent is still in tact as I sent it to my brothers and there are some files that survived the crash but most of the thousands of 'extra information' files are gone. A virus got me... quite literally the very day that I had purchased the Norton Virus Scan 2002 and was getting ready to install it. Everything just went. My computer guy said that some of the new viruses literally can hit you the minute that you open your subject line page of all your new emails. That you don't even have to open the email for it to infect your hard drive. So, if you haven't gotten a virus protection system on it.

And if it is a different Brenda POOLE or the same Brenda POOLE then it may also be "HI, Cousin Brenda," as we may possibly have a McDONALD connection depending on when yours arrived. Did yours definitely come into America in the 1800's? Was looking at your posts on Genforum. My only information that I have for certain is that my maternal 3rd great grandmother was Mary McDONALD/McDANIEL, born: 1765 in Richmond County, North Carolina, died: October 20, 1818 in Richmond Co., North Carolina, and married in abt. 1782 in Richmond Co., North Carolina to (Rev.) Owen SLAUGHTER, Jr.. They were the parents of my 2nd great grandfather named John M. SLAUGHTER, born: abt. 1795 in Richmond Co., NC, who married Susan CROUCH, born: abt. 1815 in NC, parents: Sarah and Samuel CROUCH.

Owen and Mary also had a son named Daniel SLAUGHTER. Other children of Mary and Owen were Elizabeth, William, Owen, Mary "Polly," Martha and Esther/Easther in additon to Daniel and my 2nd great grandfather, John M. SLAUGHTER.

I have seen the name of Daniel McDONALD, born: 1763 in Skye/Skye Island?, Scotland, as a probable brother of Angus McDONALD.

Interestingly enough, there are descendants of Angus McDONALD and maybe others that were later in Greene/Pickens County, Alabama which is where my Mary McDONALD and (Rev.) Owen SLAUGHTER, Jr.'s son, John M. SLAUGHTER, born: abt. 1795 in NC, and wife, Susan CROUCH, born: abt. 1815 in NC, (daughter of Sarah ? and Samuel CROUCH, born: abt. 1785 in NC,) migrated to from Richmond California to Greene/Pickens County, Alabama sometime before the birth of their son, my maternal great grandfather, Hudson/Hutson H. SLAUGHTER, (CS,) born: 14 Feb 1844 in Greene/Pickens County, Alabama, who married Claranda "Clara" WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1840 in either Catahoula or Franklin Parish, Louisiana, daughter of Elizabeth ?/?WILLIAMS?, born: prob. bet. 1790-1800 in Ohio, parents: ??, and husband, William WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1790 in Maryland. I don't yet know if this WILLIAMS family is related to the WILLIAMS family that married into my SLAUGHTER family many times in North Carolina. And there are other WILLIAMS that married into the PITTMAN family in SC that married into the WILLIAMS family of mine that married SLAUGHTER.

At this time I suspect that my Mary McDONALD is probably the sister of Daniel and Angus McDONALD but that is strictly speculation at this time.

I look forward to hearing from old friend/cousin, Brenda POOLE, or new possible cousin, Brenda POOLE.
