Thanks for the response. I'm not sure who my Angus is the son of, and frankly, I'm not sure about Angus. His name was given to me when I first started researching my name by a fourth cousin, and I haven;t been able to get him to give me any documentation or acknowledgement of where he got his info. After reading "My Native Heath" I've about come to the conclusion that my McDonald's are not from Richmond/Scotland/Moore Counties. Angus supposedly had a son, William Samuel, born in SC, who moved to Alabama around 1822. I have the descedents of William Samuel (of whom I am descended), but nothing much in the way of verification of Angus being William's father.
