Hello Darlene,
I don't have much information on Lydia Caulder, but here it is: She was the third wife of Travis Christenbury Jernigan. She had been employed as his nurse or caretaker in his declining years. I don't know her birth date or when she and Travis were married, but I believe it was near the end of his life. (His second wife, Elizabeth Snead died sometime after 1870.) Lydia died May 31, 1910. Travis died August 29, 1910. Rumor has it that Lydia was part or all Indian and the family was opposed to the marriage.
