John Phillips who was born c. 1811 in NC was in Fayette Co. GA from at least 1840 until his death in 1868. His wife Louisa was born c.1817 in GA. I do not know her maiden name. Their children were Rebecca Jane, Mary A., Elizabeth F., James H., Joel Z., John M., Martha and Susan M. Does nayone know if John belongs to a Richmond Co. family? There may be a connection to the family of James R. Phillips who migrated from darlington Dist. SC to Newton Co., GA after 1804. John is not the John Phillips who was the son of James R. Phillips. James R. Phillips' will was probated in Newton Co., GA in 1839. His youngest son Trustin was born in 1804. Other sons were James, Joel, Solomon, Elijah and John.
