I find mention of the “Caraway Meeting House”, Randolph Co. in notes from the Guilford Circuit Quarterly Conferences of the Methodist Church as early as 1849 and see burials from Find A Grave in the cemetery that is now known as the Caraway Baptist Church Cemetery, Sophia with markers dating to 1868.
I am curious to know if this site has served as a place of worship and burial for more than one religious affiliation over these many years and if by any chance there are burial records that predate and/or survive the older markers?
My contact with the current Baptist Church there yielded only the information that they were aware of burials that no longer have markers.
I hope there is a family historian out there who could investigate this a bit.
