This Is Going To Sound Like A Wild Goose Chase...

I know this is going to sound like a wild goose chase, but what I have here is all that I know. My gggg grandmother was said to have been Sarah or Sallie Pugh, born about 1851 in Randolph Co., NC.

I also know that she married Hiram Steele (1846-1922) of Orange Co., NC, and migrated to Virginia and returned to North Carolina--if I knew, I'd tell you, but I haven't the slightest idea.

I also know that Hiram and Sallie had five sons: William Thomas, Benjamin Claude, Everette Franklin, Lee Augusta and John Wesley. I have all the grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. for their line.

What I am most intrested in is my PUGH roots. Who was this Sarah/Sallie Pugh? Can anyone possibly find a probable match in the census records for Randolph Co., NC? I'd really love to dig into my PUGH roots, but I am limited in information, as you can see.
