I recently recieved a map showing the land owned by Sarah Lancaster Smith, widow of my gg-grandfather Thomas Calaway Smith(1837-1895). The land is about 140 acres situated on the west bank of a branch of Henson's Creek. On a modern map I can't seem to match it up. The old map shows the creek running from south to north with Calaway's house on a tributary spring. Does anyone know where Calaway aquired this land which joined Absolom Lancaster's land??
