Gary, I can tell you that mine line of Cannons go back to late 1790s in Pitt County. My Great Grand Father is William Cannon who married a Elizabeth Proctor. They had 3 children William Cannon who died a young boy. Lidya Liddie Cannon who married a James Frank Dixon. James Willis Cannon my Grand Father who married first to Susan Jones. They had 17 children 11 passed on shorthy after birth and 1 lived to 11 months. Six of there children lived to have families of there own. At 1 time there were 5 generations of this side of the Cannon in Pitt County. Then to My Grand Mother Sophia Louisa Buck they had 7 children James Willis Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Sara Jane, Verna, Henry, Pearly Louise and Geneva Mae. This is my Cannon line.
