The will names children and grandchildren, and names slaves divided to children that could also be useful in African American heritage quests.
The testator is Dorothea Anne Evans; the date in 10 November 1845.
Descendants listed (with slaves granted in parentheses) include:
Augustus C. Evans (none)
Stephen B. Evans (John and Solomon)
Julius A. Evans (Moses and Abel)
Paulina E. Evans (Albert and Hanah [sic])
Julia Evans Hooker, wife of Nathan Hooker (none)
She also left a slave to her grandson, Glaucus Olds (Austin)
and a slave to her grandson Richard Evans, son of Augustus C. Evans (Saringo [sp?]).
The executor idetified was Lewis P. Olds, Esq. (perhaps father of Glaucus Olds; mother another daughter?).
Witnesses were Thomas E. Nelson and John Mansfield.
