I am seeking the the parental lines of Benjamin MOORE and his wife Harriet, aka 'Hattie'.As well as trying to find out the maiden surname of Harriet..
...Now Benjamin was born in either Greene or Pitt County,NC in 1835, and he died in Wilson County,NC in 1915....Their son Joseph Tobias MOORE, born abt 1866 is my husband's line....Now I have been able to rule out that our Benjamin is NOT the son of Primative Baptist Preacher, Ichabod MOORE and his wife Elizabeth Jane JONES...But now there are other 'possibilites' of who his parents are, at this time...But I am at a brick wall in finding out which of them are the parental line of Benjamin MOORE)..I have estimated that Benjamin and Hattie were married in or about 1861, according the the figures mentioned in the 1900 census in Cross Roads, Wilson, NC...In fact our Benjamin and Harriet are in Speights Bridge, Greene County, NC in 1870; and by 1880 they are in Wilson, Wilson, NC and by 1900 in CrossRoads, Wilson, NC and by 1910 they are in Black Creek, Wilson, NC..Harriet died first in 1913, but because I don't have a maiden last name, her lineage is out of the question...But Ben MOORE died on his son's (joseph Tobias MOORE's) porch, just before dinner one night....If anyone is related to the MOORE's in either Greene, Pitt, or Wilson Counties, NC, please contact me with any information you are willing to share.......I do have more info on this MOORE line, if anyone is interested in sharing info....Thanks, Gail Veve <>
