Only 4 articles in Pitt Co. Chronicles on white May families none of which I think would do you any good.
#913- John Dixon May, b.15 Sep.,1828- d.30 Dec.,1898, was son of Turner and Elizabeth (Dixon) May. Altho md. 3 times, did not have son John.
#914- Charles Caswell May, b.28 Sep..1871 was son of John Dixon and 3rd wife, Lovey (Gardner). Had one daughter.
#916- John Joyner May, b. 5 Jun.,1848, was son of William, son of Benjamin. Had 5 children, 3 boys but no John, Jr.
#917- Benjamin May and descendents. Rather short article as he is best covered in the book, 'Tyson-May Genealogy of Pitt Co.' In said book, there is quite a discussion on the May families along with their listing of descendents. John was an oft used name so you might be able to better research from that angle. The T-M research can be found in most all major libraries.
Sorry can't help more. Best of luck and good hunting.
