My great great grandmother was Ann Elizabeth Britton who was married to William Cornelius James. I have a small amount of information on this branch of my family. My great aunt Rillie James Gardner joined the Dar through John Britton . He took his father's place in the Revolutionary War when he was 12. I have assorted handwritten notes given me by Rillie G. relating to the Britton family. I will gladly copy them for you although some are difficult to read. John Britton was born 1762 at Hertford, N. C. and died in 1820 in Bethel, N. C. He married MaryChesson born 1765 and died in 1820. Marriage took place in 1779 in Hertford according to the information I have. Hope all this is helpfull to you.
