Thanks for this information. It seems very clear that this Corporal Hillery Cason is not the one who appears in so many Pitt Co. deeds. That Hillery had far more than two children. An internet source says that Hillery's brother Cannon had children Tanner and Milberry Cason. This same source says Cannon Cason was born in 1710 (when his father was 15!). But it is clear Cannon Cason was born early.

What I think is that Cannon Cason, the brother of Hillery of the Pitt deeds, had a son Hillery, the corporal and father of James and Milberry. This Cannon also had a son Cannon, the private, whose estate passed to James and Milberry (suggesting he was unmarried).
