Glen,
William Blount ( 1749-1800)
,was a North Carolina signer of the United States Constitution. After serving in the Revolutionary War,he entered politice. in 1790, he became govenor of " Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio," an area that included the preseent state of Tennesee. Whwn Tennessee became a state in 1796, he became a U.S. senator. He was expelled in 1797 (impeached). He was born in Windsor, N.C.
