Hi, Deborah, thanks for responding to my message on the Coxs.

Well, I have it traced back to New Harmony, Indiana, Posey County, Indiana. There are two positions taken on our line.

One says that John Cox, born about 1791, married and had several children, one of which was John Turkey Cox born in 1812 and married Sarah Wade. They had several children, one of which was my great-great-grandfather Alfred born about 1844 around Posey County Indiana.

Another position, one I have found evidence of when I went to Posey County, is that Absolum and second wife Martha were the parents of John Turkey Cox. I found from one source this info and that Absolum had bros and sisters, one of which was a John born in North Carolina around 1790s. Does any of this fit with your info on Coxs.

Since we have two positions, one that has John Cox as John Turkey Cox's father, has been reported by a few who have been doing Cox research longer than I have. However, I found one source in Posey County Library/Workingman's Institute that has Absolum Cox and Martha as John Turkey's father and mother. John Turkey Cox and wife Sarah Wade Cox are buried in Posey County, near Wadesville. I have exact dates if you need them. Waiting for your reply. Thanks for your help. My email is, Thanks Tina M.
