Byrd Long, b 1793 He first shows up in the 1820 and 1830 and 1840 census. He's list in 1823 of the Person Co Tax List ZERO land. He is always shown living next door to John Long Sr, who would be his uncle.
His father is reportedly James Long, son of Ambrose Long. However, Byrd is never shown living with his father. There is a bastardly bond against his father James by a Lavinia Harris. Good possibility that Lavinia is his mother. The age fits. Byrd is the oldest of 6 children by James and unknown wife. Born 1793 he married Melissa Wynn on Aug 6, 1815.
Children are Mary Ann b 1816, Moriah b abt 1826. Melinda b. 2/10/1827, Susan b 1828, James M b 1832, Aaron C b 3/1829, Byrd Washington b. 9/4/1840, Blake W b 1848 Wm R b 1848 and Susannah b 4/1850
