Does anyone know the history of Hawkins Loop Road, located just south of Hurdle Mills in Person County? Ephraim Hawkins (1761-1836), purchased and sold land in the 1790s and early 1800s on the Bushy Fork of Flat River near here, and I am curious if the road name is tied to him.
Also, his father, William Hawkins, who emigrated to Orange County from Baltimore County MD ca. 1764, had property on the Flat River, and there is another, longer, Hawkins Road in Orange County, about five miles south of Hurdle Mills.
Are either of these roads related to these early settlers?
