Recently, two descendants of David Woody, aka David Brooks, (c1755-1821) of Person Co., NC have joined the Woody DNA Project. Their yDNA results are nearly identical, but are completely different from the yDNA results for the three previously identified Woody families/groups found in Colonial America. In addition, their yDNA does not seem to match Brooks yDNA. Both of the participants descend from William Henry Woody, the son of David Woody/Brooks. David also had several other sons: John, Aaron, Moses, James & Allen. To further investigate this situation, we would like to know the yDNA of a descendant of one or more of these additional sons. To join the project, you must be a direct male Woody descendant. Click on the link below to join.
In addition to the David Woody/Brooks line, the project is currently investigating the three other Woody lines mentioned above. We welcome participation of all male Woody descendants.
