Evelyn, in looking for my Nicholas Delone, I found several deeds, etc. naming William Lea in Caswell Co., NC. (Person Co. formed in 1791 from Orange and Caswell counties). I do not know the name of his wife. I believe he died about 1806. He appears to have been pretty well off, and in one place is called "late merchant of Leasburg". Let me know if you think this is your William and I'll email you the deed information.
