June, I saw your response to Nancy and thought you might be able to help me. My grandfather was born around Currie, Pender County in 1888. I've never been able to learn where his parents were buried and hope you might have some suggestions.

My great-grandfather was Frank Marion Orr born January 3, 1856 in New Hanover, later Pender. He was a son of Tulley Williamson Orr (1815-1892) and Mary Motte (1822-1892). (I don't know where they're buried either!) Frank died in 1905, I don't know the exact date.

My great-grandmother was Alice Emaline Lewis b. 1861 d. 1889, daughter of Simon Wright Lewis (1830-1916)and Amanda Carolyn Brinson (1833-?).

I'm also interested in Frank's second wife, Mary Alice Jones. She was born October 1, 1862 and died May 21, 1914.

Frank had three siblings: Huldah Catherine Orr Wilton is buried at a tiny, neglected cemetery know as The Wilton Cemetery in Pender; Alonzo James Orr is buried at another tiny cemetery in Whiteville, Columbus County known as The Orr Cemetery; and his brother Frederick Buchanan "Buck" Orr is buried at Moore's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Pender. I'd hoped to find Frank at one of those but no luck.

Hope you might be able to help! I've pretty much resigned myself to never knowing. You can email me at: robinjmoore@gmail.com

Thanks...Robin
