Hi. I am looking for any information on a Joseph S. Linton. His tombstone was recently found by myself on the edge of Ship Creek which runs off of Broad Creek just down from Whortonsville and across from Pamlico. The dates on the stone are Born Apr. 20, 1840, died June 21, 1905. Does anyone know if he lived on this point of land which is now Fork Point Road and was once known as the "Cartwright Property"? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a digital photo off the tombstone.
