Sherry, I don't know if this might be of help to you. Do you think that the name "Dungy" might be a corruption of the name "Dunnagan"? I've been looking at Orange Co., NC during that time period for Woods and Wilsons and I have noticed that there were some Dunnagans there during that time period. It might be something to check into.
